Round the Island Race 2014
Over 16000 sailors took to the water on the longest day to compete in the annual Round the Island Race.
Dubbed "race for all", it sees Olympic champions, record breaking sailor and TV personalities line up against families, students and first timers... All with an equal chance of winning the overall prize of the Gold Roman Bowl.
The overall winner of the race was the folk boat Madelaine skippered by Edward Donald from Winchester in a time of 11 hours, 56 minutes and 16 seconds.
Amongst the fleet was 麻豆社 Radio Solent's reporter Neil Sackley.
