Enniskillen, Co Fermanagh: Where Gallipoli Will Never Be Forgotten
Five small streets lie buried under a carpark in Enniskillen.
Dozens of soldiers from here fought at Gallipoli with the Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers.
To this day the area is known as 'The Dardanelles' in honour of that campaign.
In 1915 three battalions of the Inniskillings were sent to the Dardanelles - a narrow strait in north western Turkey - in an effort to defeat Turkey and stretch the German army beyond its limits.
The campaign was an abject failure. By January 1916, when the troops were evacuated, thousands had died on the beaches
John Deering is from the Inniskillings Museum.
