Facebook 'saves' man's life and reunites with old flame
Peter Casaru in Wales, who has a spine condition from a quad bike accident, woke up paralysed at his cottage in Brecon.
Peter said finding his mobile phone battery was dead, he used his finger nails to drag himself to his laptop, where he wrote a post on the social network, pleading for friends to get him an ambulance.
Friends of the photographer, who lived alone, replied and two ambulances arrived about 45 minutes later.
In a positive twist, an old love, who Peter hadn't seen for over 30 years, saw a newspaper article about the rescue and contacted Peter. They are now a couple.
Facebook is now 10 years old and has an estimated one billion monthly users worldwide.
