My past, your future : Richard and Chekaya
Richard is a Youth Worker in Leeds. He works hard to help young people find their way in life because he knows only too well how difficult it can be being a teenager. At the age of 13 he was excluded from mainstream school because of his behaviour. He ended up in specialist education centres in the city and found himself in with the 鈥渨rong crowd鈥. Over the past 20 years he has made up for the education he missed and is now a key figure in the lives of many in his community. He鈥檚 determined that his own children will do well. His 14 year old daughter Chekaya is a keen student and often helps with Richards community work. She sat down to talk with her Dad about his past and her future鈥.
