Talking from her hotel room on her 45th birthday she explains how it took her 10 years to find a director who could tackle Toni Morrison’s critically acclaimed novel and why she wanted it dramatized.
Plus, talking candidly about her life and career, she says women’s desire to please is restricting their potential and reveals that she believes she made the right choice in not having children of her own.
