Is the Curry Mile the most anti-social street in Manchester?
The Curry Mile has been named the most anti-social street in Manchester. It's claimed Wilmslow Road in the Rusholme area of the city had over 260 incidents of anti-social behaviour between April 2012 and January this year.
Other areas in Greater Manchester with over 250 offences a month included Wythenshawe, Stockport North and Fallowfield. In total, there were over 3,600 incidents in the city centre which works out at one every two hours.
But the Rusholme Business Association feel the statistics are misleading, because they combine the area of Rusholme with the neighbouring area of Longsight.
Faisal Farooq is the Secretary of the Rusholme Business Association and Shabir Mughal runs a restaurant on Wilmslow Road.
