The Red Arrows
John Noakes joins the famous aerial stunt team, the Red Arrows, sitting in on their debriefing and taking part in a simulated flying lesson.
First transmitted in 1976. Having made a reputation for himself as a bit of a daredevil, John Noakes continued to risk life and limb in this series. This edition sees him join the famous aerial stunt team the Red Arrows, sitting in on their debriefing and taking part in a simulated flying lesson. He's also a passenger in a practice display before helping the groundcrew prepare for a big show.

Did You Know?
Yorkshireman John Noakes holds the record for longest-serving presenter of the children's magazine programme Blue Peter, having racked up 12 years and six months (though Konnie Huq was a presenter for just over 10 years, she holds the record for number of editions she presented - 966).
The theme tune to this series is a rendition of On Ilkla Moor Baht 'at ('On Ilkley Moor, without a hat'), a popular Yorkshire song sung to the tune of the hymn Cranbrook.
