Should non-medical circumcisions be an NHS service?

In Sheffield, the Group of GPs taking control of cash for health services in April, are looking at their budget. The Clinical Commissioning Group are working out where money can be saved and what care will be privatised.

Their first decision is to start charging for non-medical circumcisions. They think this will save the health authority around 200 thousand pounds a year. But these plans have upset members of Sheffield's Muslim community. Most Muslim boys are circumcised as babies.
