Mariko Mori
Festive music, Mariko Mori and Christmas in China.
The best of the world's arts, film, music and literature brought to you every day.
Presented by Anna McNamee.
On today's programme: The 麻豆社鈥檚 Audrey Brown and Carolina Robino sit down with Anna to talk through their favourite pieces of Christmas music from their respective South African and Chilean homelands, and there are no log fires or snowmen in sight!
The Japanese artist Mariko Mori is re-imagining ancient myths and using state-of-the-art technology to chart the life and death of a star from an observatory in Japan to create mesmerising sculptures and installations in her new exhibition Rebirth.
Christmas in China is not, by tradition, their main festival which remains Chinese New Year. But Christmas revelry and consumerism is on the rise, we hear more from the humour columnist and TV host Linda Kennedy in Hong Kong, who is watching the mainland getting merry.
