Scotland鈥檚 post-war industrial boom
When the war ended in 1945, Scottish shipyards boomed under the demand for building new warships and refitting regular vessels that had been adapted for military use. Clydeside no longer had to compete with German and Japanese shipyards, which had been destroyed by allied bombing during the war.
