The Black Watch and the Tobruk "Breakout"
In Tobruk in November 1941, the famous Black Watch regiment distinguish themselves in a vain attempt to breakout of the garrison and link up with the approaching 8th Army.
Of the 650 Black Watch soldiers who went into action, only 130 were left standing to rejoin the reigment. It was an action considered by many to be one of the most courageous seen during the siege of Tobruk.
