Letters from home
A garrison of British and Australian soldiers are besieged for months in the small desert town of Tobruk. Their only respite from the constant shelling and deprivation comes from the letters and care parcels that periodically arrive from ‘home’.
When the shelling starts again, men from both sides are reminded of the desperation and fragility of their situation, as Australian veteran Joe Madeley recounts with his story of the time he shared a foxhole with two Germans.
