Prefect elections in a Syrian school
As prefect elections get underway in a Syrian school, competition is tough. Only pupils who are members of the ruling Arab Ba'ath Socialist Party are allowed to stand for election, or to take part in the voting. This reflects the state of democracy in Syria as a whole, and shows the limited democracy allowed in the country.
