Life in the British Empire
The British takeover of Kenya brought a high standard of living for many of the colonists. They dismissed African culture and saw the natives as primitive and in need of civilisation. Tribes were uprooted as the British drew lines across their land, and missionaries set up schools to teach Christianity and introduce a more European culture.
