Gary Numan - Interview with Dave Pearce
Dave Pearce continues his journey through 4 decades of dance music. On tonight's show, electro-pop pioneer Gary Numan raids his dance record collection.
1979 was the year that Numan broke into the UK charts with the hits 'Are Friends Electric?' and 'Cars', helping to establish the synth pop sound on both sides of the Atlantic. His influence on dance music has been felt through the decades, from having his music cut up by hip hop DJs in early 80s New York, to being sampled by huge dance artists such as Armand Van Helden and Basement Jaxx in more recent times.
Tonight, he shares some of his favourite dance tracks, which include some of the most important names in electronic music from the 70s to the 00s.
