Mark Watson explores Oxfordshire's pop music scene in the 1970s with a look behind the scenes of The Manor Recording Studios & Oxford Band State Affair recall their appearances on Opportunity Knocks.

On 25th April Mark Watson and the team will be talking to members of Oxford 70s band State Affair who found national fame via Opportunity Knocks, we'll have a some listener memories of gigs and clubs they went to back then and find out about Richard Branson's old Virgin Studios that were at Shipton-on-Cherwell. Radio Presenter David Freeman still lives in the village and tells us what it was like, and vocalist and guitarist from The Strawbs, Dave Lambert gives us his memories of recording and partying there!

We will also look back at some of the local gigs, venues and bands who played across the county in the 1970s as well as hearing music from some of the stars who visited here.
