Jennifer Smith on Sociolinguistics
Attending the 5th annual Language & Politics Symposium at Queen鈥檚 University was Jennifer Smith, a sociolinguist from York University, originally from north-east Scotland. She talks to Conal Gillespie about her work in sociolinguistics and we hear an interview with her 84 year old Auntie Ruth who used to work as a travelling fish-gutter. (Broadcast 3rd October 2004)
