Gavin Falconer on standards in Ulster-Scots writing
Conal Gillespie chats with Gavin Falconer - a Scotsman who’s been working as an Ulster-Scots translator for the Northern Ireland Assembly at Stormont for over four years. At the QUB Symposium, he delivered a paper on the relationship between Scots and Ulster-Scots called ‘Breaking Nature’s Social Union: the autonomy of Scots in Ulster’. Gavin chats to Conal about his paper and about the reasons why he thinks there is a lack of standardisation in Ulster-Scots writing. (Broadcast 19th September 2004)
