What did the Normans do for us? Ahead of a new 麻豆社 television series, Danny Pike looks at the legacy left by the Normans in Sussex. With live reports from Lewes Castle.

For many of us our knowledge of the Normans does not extend beyond 1066.

Well now a three part series on 麻豆社 2 aims to put that right and reveal "The Normans" as the story of a warrior race whose power and ambition transformed Europe.

Sussex has major connections to the Normans - it was here that William the Conqueror landed in an invasion that would change England forever.

Today we're live from Lewes Castle, we've got some castle builders in the studio and we'll be hearing from a world expert on what the Normans really did for us...

Elsewhere, Danny hears about the story of Casper the Cat - who used the number 3 bus to explore his neighbourhood!

Also, Holiday Horror Stories! most of us have them - whether it involves theft, cancellations, hidden charges or personal injury.

Well new research reveals nearly half of British holiday makers have paid up to 拢250 in extra costs.

While thirty percent now claim to book their holiday on a credit card to ensure extra protection against cancellations.

Tom Hall is Travel Editor of the Lonely Planet guides and money expert Elena Shalneva is from Western Union ... and they speak to Danny Pike.
