There aren't many wildlife centres that win awards for architecture, but check out the Teifi Marshes one - a real structural statement. Chris Packham goes birding with reserve warden Phil Ward. This reserve covers 100 hectares and the main habitat is reedbeds, with some woodland and the River Teifi. Twice a day the area floods with salt water, so there are saline conditions in the reeds, which affects which invertebrates can live there. Cardigan is right on the reserve doorstep , so locals can wander from home to the wild areas. Curlew are big and easy to see. This reserve is quite an isolated wetland site and is the second biggest reedbed in Wales, so it is very important. There are a lot of fairly common species all mixed in together, and you can go to Cardigan for lunch.
