Squirrel secrets
There鈥檚 are only red squirrels up in this part of the world in the north east - but the greys are coming. Everybody thinks that grey squirrels are pushing out reds but that isn鈥檛 strictly speaking true. They don鈥檛 attack or harass reds, but they do compete for the food and because they鈥檙e bigger and more robust they tend to win out. That鈥檚 why there are special feeders here which are supposedly grey-proof. Bill Oddie watches a red squirrel at one of the special feeders. And in case you鈥檙e wondering, red squirrel was number one - the animal that viewers most wanted to see.
