Dartmoor isn't just moorland, it also has some eerie and beautiful woodlands, where the rocks and wonderfully shaped trees are covered in moss and lichens and epiphytes that live entirely on the trees. There are many legends about these areas. The Druids were reputed to carry out their rituals here, and Bill remarks that it feels like it would be a great place for the Beast of Dartmoor to hide out.
