Birds, bats and pterosaurs

Birds rule the skies today, but millions of years before they evolved there were flying reptiles called pterosaurs. Unlike birds they had teeth and wings made of membrane, not feathers. The fossilized brains of pterosaurs can tell us they were agile and had good vision. They may have resembled bats in appearance amongst other things. Some remarkable fossils show that pterosaurs had furry bodies to keep warm, just like bats do.
