Silk use
A female wolf spider stores sperm inside her until she is ready to produce her eggs. When that time arrives she makes a special sheet of silk and lays her eggs into a blob of liquid on it. Then she parcels them up into a tough silken capsule with a waterproof covering and carries them about with her. She finds sunny areas to warm up her eggs and speed up their development. After they hatch out she also looks after her babies. They climb on to her back and anchor themselves there with silk.
