Julia Rooke travels to Turkey for Assignment to examines claims that doctors and expert witness are being coerced by the authorities when examining torture allegations and incidents of death in custody. Most forensic doctors in Turkey are civil servants, employees of the State Forensic Institute. For years only they have been allowed to write reports and provide expert witness in criminal cases. Criticism of the Institute among doctors is growing - but the Justice Ministry refuses to relinquish control and punishes those State Forensic doctors who dare to speak out.
