Razia Iqbal interviews Jung Chang at the Hay Festival about her latest work and how she continues to ruffle feathers in her home country.

Jung Chang's autobiography Wild Swans has sold over 10 million copies worldwide but is still banned in the country of her birth, China. A critical biography of chairman Mao followed, a work involving hundreds of interviews with world-renowned figures, from the likes of George Bush to the Dalai Lama. Her latest work is a biography of the Empress Dowager Cixi who unofficially controlled the Qing Dynasty in China for 47 years until 1908. Razia Iqbal interviews her at the Hay Festival about how she continues to ruffle feathers in her home country.
