Musician and songwriter Beth Ditto shares the songs that have sound-tracked her life and how her experiences and emotions are woven into her own music.

Beth Ditto, the fabulous front woman of the Gossip, shares the pivotal moments that have made her the artist she is today.

Talking to Nemone, who combines her roles of DJ and qualified psychotherapist, Beth dives deep to share her story and the songs that have moved her, sound-tracking the ups and downs of her life. She also reveals how personal experiences and emotions are woven through her own music.

The Gossip broke through loudly and proudly in the UK with their post-punk, indie-dance album Standing in the Way of Control in 2006, which was backed up with riotously good live performances. Beth has since released another three studio albums with the band, a solo release 鈥楩ake Sugar鈥� in 2017, alongside a career in fashion and acting.

In this episode, the compelling performer with the mighty voice shares her childhood musical memories, from the sound of a vacuum cleaner to Black Sabbath, and how she sees and feels music. Beth also remembers how RnB and bands such as Nirvana opened up a musical world for her in the 90s. She talks about the complex but loving relationships she shares with the bandmates she met as a teenager, life as a gay woman and why feminism and activism are so important to her. Beth also speaks about her ADHD journey and how a diagnosis changed her life for the better.

In this series Nemone also talks in depth to musicians Primal Scream鈥檚 Bobby Gillespie, Kelly Lee Owens and Sharon Van Etten.
