Episode 6
Nigel Havers presides as five sellers aim to get the best price for their items, including a propelling pencil, dulcimer, fairground horses, toy tractor and wartime memorabilia.
Nigel Havers welcomes five more sellers to the Bidding Room, where they try to sell items to professional dealers who are on the lookout for interesting pieces, with help from expert Simon Bower.
First through the doors, and a previous visitor to the room, is Annaleisa. She鈥檚 sold a vintage seed drill to Ian in the past, but this time she鈥檚 brought something smaller for the dealers to write home about. Her Victorian propelling pencil was once owned by her grandmother, but it has lived in a drawer for too long. Will any of the dealers draw on a deal?
Next in, hoping to string out a deal, is guitarist Bruce, with an instrument once favoured by magicians including Jon Mitchell. The Appalachian dulcimer is a big hit in the room, but Bruce will need to deliver a winning performance if he wants the dealers to pay to the tune of Simon鈥檚 expert valuation.
Third into the Bidding Room merry-go-round is Bob from Essex, hoping to take the dealers on a trip down memory lane with a pair of fairground ride horses. Bought from a car-boot sale to furnish Bob鈥檚 home bar, the horses are now redundant and looking for a new home.
It鈥檚 Sharon next, with a toy tractor belonging to her late husband. The tractor has been in Sharon鈥檚 life for over 50 years, and it鈥檚 still in perfect condition. It should appeal to any toy collectors amongst the dealers.
Finally, Jo has an evocative collection of militaria from both the First and Second World Wars. Discovered in a loft, the collection of trench maps, tin hat and oxygen mask hold a lot of history. Jo hopes the display of militaria will enrapture World War II enthusiast Jacqui. Can she and the other dealers help Jo raise some money for a charity close to her heart?
The dealers are Ian, Jacqui, Viki, Adi, Jo and JB.
