Episode 1

Izzie finds remarkable memorabilia and JJ restores a sideboard as they help a downsizing couple clear out 40 years of collectables following a life-altering diagnosis.

Izzie and JJ are motoring to rural Oxfordshire to clear a house of automobilia and collectables built up over 40 years. However, with only a day to find and fix items to take to auction, the pressure is on.

A rare disease has left Stephen struggling with his mobility. A retired automotive engineer, his childhood passion for cars has led to a huge collection spanning decades. Now, Stephen's condition means that he and his wife Sarah need to downsize from their three-storey home to a bungalow, but they can't do so until they clear out some clutter and send it to auction.

The money raised will finally allow Sarah to fulfil a long-held dream. She wants to travel to Belgium and visit the grave of her great-grandfather, who died in the First World War, for the first time.

Auctioneer Izzie Balmer uncovers collections of model cars, vintage tins and enamel signs, as well as car parts that Stephen worked on during his career with prestige makers. A jewellery box containing items gifted to Sarah by her late mum could make a small fortune. However, will Sarah be willing to part with such sentimental items?

Meanwhile, JJ brings new life to a nest of tables, refurbishes a damaged sideboard and restores an old water pump. To save time, but at huge risk, JJ decides to use a power sander on one item – potentially making it unsellable at auction. On auction day, Izzie is in the driving seat and steers the car parts to new owners. She also gets bidders ‘pumped up’ for one of JJ’s fixes and has the Midas touch when the jewellery goes under her gavel.
