Episode 3
Chinese collectables must be sold, but the pressure鈥檚 on auctioneer JB to raise as much money as possible for charity. Restorer Lauren finds that restoring a table is no easy task.
Following a diagnosis of Alzheimer's, Christina has decided she wants to make the most of her time with her husband William and get her estate in order. This includes selling items she has collected over the years. The couple hope that by taking their unwanted belongings to auction, they will not burden their sons in the future.
Over the years, Christina and William have built up a collection of treasures, many of which came from his relatives in China. Their flat is packed with rugs, delicate porcelain, and striking paintings. They plan to auction off what they no longer need and give the proceeds to an Alzheimer鈥檚 charity.
Auctioneer James Broad has only a day to sift through the collection. He unearths an ornate basket with a fascinating connection to the couple鈥檚 wedding day and learns about William鈥檚 passion for porcelain. Meanwhile, restorer Lauren Wood breathes new life into a vintage clothes mangle that's stood outside for years.
And a small table requires a major overhaul, not just a quick fix. On auction day, JB must attract as many bidders as possible to raise the maximum amount for Christina's chosen charity.
