In this new series of interviews with great musicians, writer and broadcaster Norman Lebrecht talks to the charistmatic young Lithuanian conductor, Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla.

Born into a musical family in Vilnius, Lithuania in 1986, she conducted her first choir at age 13, and in 2016 - when still in her twenties - was appointed music director of the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, following in the footsteps of Sir Simon Rattle, Sakari Oramo and Andris Nelsons.
