Pat in Strabane doesn’t appreciate the reply he gets to ‘Happy Christmas!’

“It does my head in,” says Pat in Strabane, “when I say, ‘Happy Christmas’ to someone and they reply ‘same to you!’ in reply. It's ignorant!”
“What should you say?” Sean says. “‘And the same to you!’ comes naturally. But I don’t like, ‘and the same to you and yours!’”
"Will you tell Pat in Strabane I said ‘thanks!’ in response to his ‘Happy Christmas,’” says Lawrence the Painter. “How's he prefer that response? All the hairy chest!”
