Phil Fearon is the Rewind Selector!

Two happy hours of feel-good dance floor fillers! Galaxy frontman Phil Fearon chooses the tracks that take him back to his youth in 'Rewind Selector'.

Two happy hours of feel-good dance floor fillers and brilliant beats to make you move! DJ Spoony serves up tunes from the 70s to the present day, from soulful house to lyrical garage and rhythmical RnB to awe-inspiring remixes. It's all killer and no filler with big dollops of nostalgia to make you smile. Our genial host also unveils his ‘New 2 Spoon’, which is a minty-fresh track that has caught his ears in the week.

Two very special mixes keep the Friday night vibes flowing. Kicking off the show is 'The Good Groove 90s Party Mix' for hot tub discos, car seat dancing and living room sing-alongs everywhere. Then later on our host takes to the decks live for 'The Good Groove Deep Cuts Mix', a glamorous, high energy selection that will make you want to push back the sofa and dance.

Plus Phil Fearon, the lead singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist for the 1980s band Galaxy, chooses the tracks that take him back as he shares his early clubbing tales in 'Rewind Selector'. Fearon was born in Jamaica in 1956 and moved to London with his parents at the age of six in 1962. After running a reggae sound system, he joined Hott Wax (which evolved into Brit funk pioneers Hi-Tension after he left). In the late 1970s was a mainstay of hit group Kandidate which scored a number 11 chart hit in 1979 with "I Don't Wanna Lose You". Phil's first recording as Galaxy (with assistance from singers Julie and Dorothy) was "Head Over Heels" on Ensign Records in 1982, which became a club hit. Their first success came with the top 5 hit "Dancing Tight" in 1983 and over the next 15 months they chalked up a further four UK hit singles including the top 10s "What Do I Do" and "Everybody's Laughing". Their post-disco debut album 'Phil Fearon and Galaxy' also made the top 10 in 1984. In 1987, Phil founded and managed record label Production House Records.
