Cha-cha-cha
The most recognisable rhythm in dance: two, three, cha-cha-ch脿. Donald takes the final steps in his week long whirl around the world of ballroom dancing.
Donald Macleod takes a whirl around the world through the music of ballroom dancing, in celebration of 麻豆社 Radio 3鈥檚 Day of Dance on Friday 8th November. With the help of Hilary French, author of Ballroom: A People鈥檚 History of Dancing, Donald waltzes across Viennese ballrooms, foxtrots through New York clubs, tries the tango in the arrabales of Buenos Aires, sambas on the streets of Salvador and finally cha-cha-cha鈥檚 his way to Havana.
In today's final instalment, Donald takes to the clubs of Cuba to learn how the danz贸n-mambo evolved into the most recognisable rhythm in ballroom dance: two, three, cha-cha-ch脿.
