Idris Ackamoor's 4/4
The Pyramids bandleader, saxophonist and tap dancer selects music to move to.
鈥楻ound Midnight is presented by award-winning saxophonist Soweto Kinch. This weekday late-night show celebrates the thriving UK jazz scene and spotlights the best new music alongside incredible acts from past decades.
Idris Ackamoor is a saxophonist, composer and bandleader of long-running group The Pyramids. Also a talented tap dancer, Idris is selecting key pieces of music to move to, in a special themed edition of 4/4, ahead of Radio 3's Day of Dance this Friday - he even performs some tap for us along the way. He begins with a piece by the Art Ensemble of Chicago.
Plus, there's music from Robohands, Niwel Tsumbu, Caroline Davis and Playtime.
