The week begins with a live concert from London’s Wigmore Hall given by former Â鶹Éç New Generation Artists the Van Kuijk Quartet, whose accolades include First, Best Beethoven and Best Haydn Prizes at the 2015 Wigmore Hall International String Quartet competition. The programme features a selection of French mélodies in transcriptions and arrangements for string quartet. Plus we travel to the south west corner of Ireland for the first of our visits this week to the West Cork Chamber Music Festival, recorded in July this year. And to mark the 100th anniversary of the death of Gabriel Fauré, the Radio France Philharmonic Choir and Orchestra perform his famous Requiem.
