When a precarious telegraph pole threatens their home, Evadne and Hilda head for Maud’s house.

Although Maud and her family are very accommodating, it’s not Evadne’s cup of tea.

Starring Dame Hilda Bracket and her lifelong companion Dr Evadne Hinge.

Three series ran on Â鶹Éç Radio 4 between 1977 and 1979, with further spin-off seasons on Â鶹Éç Radio 2 until 1990.

In the early 1980s, they expanded over to Â鶹Éç TV with the series Dear Ladies.
