Salmon and Whiskey

Whiskey and salmon on the North Coast, a good day for carrots in County Down and a garlic grower goes green in County Cork.

Presenter, Nicola Weir, heads to Cushendall to visit Glens of Antrim Potatoes and speak to owner, Michael McKillop about his new whiskey venture. The Carrot is King for a day and Nicola finds out more about the nation’s favourite vegetable from Yorkshire grower, Rodger Hobson and County Down grower, Adrian McGowan from Millbank Farm in Killinchy. Social Farm Week is coming up and Malini Colville is opening up her farm in Comber to show how farming is an invaluable tool for therapy, rehabilitation, social inclusion, education and community support. And it’s off to Cork to see how farmer, Tim Rowe, reinvented himself when it came to making money from his 12 acres of land – and garlic was the crop that worked! Finally, Nicola is treated to a salmon and whiskey feast courtesy of chef Gary Stewart from Tartine Restaurant in Bushmills.
