Nikki Bedi continues her travels in Turkey, immersing herself in its rich history, arts and culture. This time, she visits Cappadocia in central Turkey. Known for its volcanic landscape, it is increasingly being seen as a location where artists can seek inspiration and create spectacular works. A region famous for its pottery, Nikki visits renowned master potter Aydin Afacan and tries her hand at replicating some of his works. Nikki arrives as Cappadocia is playing host to Cappadox, a festival focused on music and contemporary art. Nikki experiences a musical performance with Turkish DJ Mercan Dede, chats with emerging singer-songwriter Maya Perest about the Turkish influences in her work, and discovers the latest installation by contemporary artist Hale Tenger.
