Your daily classical soundtrack
Take time out with a 30-minute soundscape of classical favourites.
Half an hour of back to back classical music to help you wind down at the end of a busy day. Sit back and imagine being whisked away by a whirling waltz from Gustav Holst, then being calmed by a Rachmaninov prelude, and serenaded by the clear voice of Emma Kirkby singing a lute song by Robert Jones. The theme from the film "Ladies in Lavender" continues the lyrical mood, but not for too long, as Kodaly peps things up with his joyous music from the Hary Janos suite. After that, allow the luminous sound of Voces8 wash over you with the ravishing choral writing of Rebecca Dale, along with the 12 cellists of the Berlin Philharmonic playing "Windmills of your mind".
