Magda is the mistress of the wealthy Rambaldo, but believes that love has nothing to do with wealth. When her palm is read at a party, it's predicted that she will go south in pursuit of romance, like 'la rondine', the swallow. Soon afterwards she meets the idealistic Ruggero, and it looks like that prediction is correct.

Presented by Debra Lew Harder with commentator Ira Siff.
