Episode 3
Setting off from Fort Dunree, the adventurers tackle the Inishowen peninsula as they make their way to Inishtrahull - but the journey is not without difficulties.
NÃl deireadh leis an aistear éachtach cadhcála go fóill dár gcéaslóirà cróga, Tessa Fleming agus Irial Ó Ceallaigh agus imÃonn siad ón dúnfort stairiúil ar an Dún Riabhach don trÃú céim dá dturas. Tá brú fisiciúil agus intinne an mhór-dhúshláin seo anois le feiceáil, agus tá géarghá le sos beag gairid sula dtugann siad aghaidh ar an oileán tréigthe iargúlta, Inis Trá Tholl. I ndiaidh an eispéiris speisialta saoil seo, téann siad ar ais ar an uisce agus céaslaÃonn siad a fhad le Bá álainn Chionn an Gabha agus leis na haillte mórthaibhseacha ag an tSrúibh Brain, sula dtrasnaÃonn siad Loch Feabhail isteach go contae Dhoire, áit ina dtugann siad cuairt ar fhothrach sheaneaglais Naomh Aodhán in Aird Mhic Giollagáin.
The journey of a lifetime continues for inspiring kayakers Tessa Fleming and Irial Ó Ceallaigh as they set off from the historic Fort Dunree for the third leg of their journey. The physical and mental strain of this immense challenge is beginning to show, and a brief respite is needed before they make their way to the remote, abandoned island of Inishtrahull.
After this experience, it’s back to the water and a paddle to the stunning Kinnegoe Bay and the cliffs of Inishowen Head, before crossing Lough Foyle into county Derry, where they visit the ruins of Saint Aidan’s Church at Magilligan.
