50 Years Of The Scottish Chamber Orchestra

Celebrating Scotland鈥檚 classical world, Jamie MacDougall highlights the work of the 麻豆社 Scottish Symphony Orchestra in concert and other Scottish artists and ensembles.

We join the Scottish Chamber Orchestra鈥檚 50th anniversary celebrations with live performance recordings of Mozart鈥檚 playful Concerto in E-flat for two pianos and Haydn鈥檚 鈥楽urprise鈥 Symphony. Jamie points towards Valentine鈥檚 Day with romantic music, as cellist Natalie Clein joins the 麻豆社 Scottish Symphony Orchestra and conductor Andrew Manze for one of Saint Saens' best-known and loved cello concertos. Ahead of the UK premiere of Jonathan Dove鈥檚 latest opera Marx in London by Scottish Opera, we hear the Scottish Opera Orchestra in music by Franz Lehar and there鈥檚 concert news for St Andrews as clarinettist Maximiliano Martin joins friends for a recital of chamber music for Winds.
