Soil Sampling in Glenavy
Soil Nutrient Health Scheme in Glenavy, record calf sold in County Roscommon and 6,000 years of secrets at Murlough.
Countryside travels to Glenavy to talk to soil sampler, David Cairns, who has walked around three counties already as part of the Soil Nutrient Health Scheme, a unique project that aims to analyse soil in 650 thousand fields here. County Antrim farmer, Edward Ellison and farmer Noel Clancy from Tipperary are also leading the way when it comes to spreading the word about farming food and the environment to a new generation and we hear from John Kennedy, the lucky County Donegal farmer who sold his magnificent Belgium Blue calf for a record breaking price of 21 and a half euro at Carrick on Shannon mart. Countryside also heads to Murlough near Newcastle to find out more about the 6000 years of history in the dunes.
