Eliades Ochoa in Session

Cerys welcomes Cuban musician Eliades Ochoa for a very special acoustic love performance and chats to Edward Brooke-Hitching about his latest finds for Love, A Curious History.

Cerys welcomes Cuban musician Eliades Ochoa to the studio for a very special acoustic performance. Eliades is perhaps best know for his guitar playing in Buena Vista Social Club before releasing 9 albums and winning 4 Latin Grammys. In May this year he released a new album, Guajiro which featured guests Rubén Blades, Joan As Police Woman and Charlie Musselwhite.

Writer, cartophile and researcher Edward Brooke-Hitiching joins Cerys to share his latest finds for his new book Love, A Curious History in 50 Objects. The collection traces the story of love through the ages and features prehistoric carvings, medieval spell books and Victorian code-writing.

All tied together with Cerys' favourite music discoveries new and old as she hand picks you records from her collection spanning all eras and genres from around the world, including songs from Oisín Leech, Mari Kalkun and Jalen N'Gonda.
