Performances of Schumann's Piano Trio in G minor, Bonporti's Inventione in A and Handel's cantata Armida abbandonata at the 2023 West Cork Chamber Music Festival.
John Toal presents the third in our series of Lunchtime Concerts from this year's West Cork Chamber Music Festival, recorded in Bantry, West Cork.
Opening today's recital, a performance of Schumann's Piano Trio in G minor with violinist Alina Ibragimova, cellist Leonard Elschenbroich and pianist C茅dric Tiberghien. The work, completed in 1851, was dedicated to the Danish composer Niels Gade. Following this, an Inventione in A major by the 18th century Italian composer and priest Francesco Bonporti.
To finish today's recital, a cantata by Handel- Armida abbandonata- with Ensemble Diderot who are joined by soprano Anna Devin.
