Sandy Newman of Marmalade

Marmalade's Sandy Newman chats about their upcoming tour.

Marmalade formed in Glasgow in 1961 as The Gaylords. They changed their name to The Marmalade in 1966 and during the 60s and 70s they scored several top ten singles.

Sandy Newman has been the band鈥檚 lead vocalist and guitarist since the mid 70s, but he was just 14 when he first performed in pubs and clubs. Those early gigs led him to form the group Candy Floss, who signed to CBS. And it was via that label that he met Marmalade and eventually joined the band when they had a line-up change.

Sandy still leads the band today as they tour around the UK. Johnnie speaks to him about the tour and his memories of the 70s.
