South Korean pianist Yeol Eum Son performs Beethoven's Piano Sonata No 29 in B flat, 'Hammerklavier', as well as music by Beethoven's pupil, composer and pianist Carl Czerny.

From the Queen鈥檚 Hall in Edinburgh, South Korean pianist Yeol Eum Son performs music by 19th-century keyboard greats.

Carl Czerny (known for his rigorous piano studies) uses a well-known French tune of the time 鈥楲a Ricordanza鈥� for a colourful theme and variations. Next we hear from Czerny鈥檚 teacher Beethoven, his monumental 鈥楬ammerklavier鈥� Sonata with its arresting slow movement and technical fireworks finale.
