Aicsean Craoibhe i bpeil na bhfear agus peil na mban, Corn Domhanda Sacar na mBan.
Championship action in men’s and ladies’ football, Women’s World Cup in soccer.
Díomá ar pheileadóirí Mhuineacháin agus Dhoire i bPáirc an Chrócaigh ag deireadh na seachtaine, in ainneoin don dá fhoireann fanacht san iomaíocht d’fhormhór a gcluichí leathcheannais in éadan Átha Cliath agus Chiarraí. Agus díomá fosta ar na foirne Ultacha i gcluichí ceathrú ceannais na mban: Ard Mhacha, a thug a sá do Chorcaigh, agus Dún na nGall ar bhuail mná Átha Cliath go maith iad. Beidh tine an dóchais ar lasadh i gcroíthe bhanlaochra sacair Phobhlacht na hÉireann áfach, agus iad ag dul chun na páirce Déardaoin i Sydney na hAstráile le haghaidh a thabhairt ar na hóstaigh sa Chorn Domhanda. Tugann Laura Uí Dhonnabháin réamhbhlaiseadh dúinn ar an chomórtas.
Disappointment for the footballers of Monaghan and Derry at Croke Park this weekend, despite both teams running their opponents, Dublin and Kerry, very close in their Championship semi-finals. Disappointment too for the Ulster teams who competed in the ladies’ quarter-finals: Armagh who were narrowly beaten by Cork, and Donegal, who suffered a more comprehensive loss at the hands of Dublin. Hope will burn in the hearts of the soccer heroes who take to the field in Sydney this Thursday however, as they take on hosts Australia in the women’s World Cup. Laura Uí Dhonnabháin previews the competition for us.
