PHONE-IN
SNP MP Mhairi Black is stepping down at the next general election. She is the sixth SNP MP to announce they will not contest the next election, which is expected to be held in 2024. In a statement Ms Black, 28, described Westminster as an "outdated, sexist and toxic" working environment.
This follows on from Humza Yousaf saying in May that Scottish politics is more toxic than it has ever been. The First Minister said the atmosphere in the Scottish Parliament is βvery differentβ from 2011, when he was first elected as an MSP for the Glasgow region.
